Free Saturday Wine Tasting, Feb. 4, 2-4pm: Mt. Boucherie

Mt. Boucherie Winery, located on the west bank of Okanagan Lake in Kelowna, makes a point of calling itself a"family estate winery." That's because it makes its wines with "100 percent family-grown grapes" (from vineyards in Cawston, Okanagan Falls and at the winery). It has been, in fact, family-owned and operated since 1968, evolving from a grape growing endeavor into a notable winery. Come join us this Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2 to 4 pm to try three of their estate wines.

Free Saturday Wine Tasting, Jan 21, 2-4pm: Inniskillin

Inniskillin is one of a few Canadian wineries that has facilities both in the Okanagan and Niagara regions. The winery started in Niagara in the '70s—garnering the first Canadian wine license since prohibition ended—and has been making wine in the Okanagan at its Golden Mile location since 1994. Though Inniskillin is well-known for icewine, its four different labels offer a great variety of table wines, as well. Stop in this Saturday, Jan 21, from 2 to 4 pm.

New Arrivals, Restocks + Vintage Changes

Just a quick update to mention a couple new releases, some returning wines and a few new vintages. And if you think new vintages don't make much difference, check out our staff tasting notes of the Thornhaven 2010 Pinot Gris:
"Peach, honey, spice and lemon, good balance finishes juicy & lingering. Very different from the previous vintage. Definitely not the same lush wine from 2009; more along the lines of the Intrigue Pinot Gris."
