Free Saturday Wine Tasting, June 15, 2-4pm: Moraine

Moraine is another new Naramata Bench winery. Owners Oleg and Svetlana Aristarkhov relocated from Alberta to start their new endeavor and have purposely kept their portfolio small with Pinot Gris, Viognier and a handful of red and white blends. Moraine has a total of 10.5 acres under vine—the 7-acre Anastasia and 3.5-acre Sophia vineyards, named after their daughters—but are only making wine from the larger Anastasia vineyard as Sophia is still maturing. Stop in this Saturday, June 15, from 2 to 4 pm to try three offerings—one varietal and two red blends—from this up and coming boutique winery.

Free Saturday Wine Tasting, June 8, 2-4pm: Saxon Estate Winery

We had a last-minute lineup change for our free tasting this Saturday. We will save Howling Bluff for a future date and instead feature another small new family-owned winery from the Okanagan, Saxon Estate Winery. Paul and Jayne Graydon bought the winery about a year and a half ago and hired former Saturna Island winemaker Danny Hattingh as their winemaker. Their current lineup is mostly organic, except for their unique Unoaked Merlot, offering wine drinkers who are sensitive to oak a hearty red option. We'll be pouring these wines this Saturday, June 8, from 2 to 4 pm. Please join us and try some of Saxon's offerings.

Here's a great opportunity to taste five of Sandhill's terrific wines. This Okanagan winery is known for its small-production releases, many of which are made from single vineyards. Free Saturday Wine Tasting, May 25, 2-4pm: Squeezed/Therapy/Painted Rock

This week's tasting can be billed as "Squeezed & friends," since the upstart Okanagan winery started by the three children—Michael, Christina and Nicole—of Quinta Ferreira owners John and Maria Ferreira only has three wines currently available.
